Welcome back to school Seminole Elementary students and families! Our students are back in class and ready to learn. We kicked off the new school year with Meet Your Teacher on August 9th. It was wonderful seeing smiling faces and students ready and excited to start a new school year.
Seminole Elementary PTA has a Facebook Page this year. We encourage parents and friends to like our page to keep up to date on our meetings, programs and events. Our first general PTA meeting will be held on Tuesday August 15th at 6:30pm in the school Centennial Building. We look forward to having you join us for our first meeting of the school year.
Open House will be between 6pm-7:15pm on following dates:
Tuesday August 22nd (PreK-2nd grade)
Tuesday September 5th (3rd-5th grade)
Please take a moment this week to show your appreciation for your child’s teacher. This week is an opportunity to honor the people who lend their passion and skills to educate our children.
Begun in 1996. this program has contributed more than $525 million to education as of 2014. Using the program is easy: Parents clip coupons, and schools collect and redeem them. General Mills pays 10 cents per coupon. Schools use the money to buy items beyond their budgets, such as playground equipment, library books and technology. Our school is currently using the funds to purchase technology for our classrooms. Tell your friends and family to keep clipping! If you don’t already clip these coupons, please consider starting! The coupons are located on all General Mills items. Clipped coupons can be turned in to Eileen in the school’s front office. Thank You!
Seminole Elementary School will present a showcase of student’s Science Fair Projects on Thursday April 20th. The showcase will be located in the Centennial Building and students and their families are welcome to come between 6-7pm at their leisure. The projects have been judged and the ribbon winners will be revealed for this evening showcase. We hope you can join us for this event.
Seminole Elementary PTA will be sponsoring a family skating party at Astro Skate Family Fun Center on Thursday April 13th between 6-8pm. The cost for students and adults is $7.00 which includes a regular skate rental. Please come and enjoy a fun evening with your family. The grade level with the most skaters gets free pizza at the end of session! Students cannot be dropped off for this event! They must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
