A new school year for our students begins on Monday August 13th. We have a change in our school times this year. School will begin at 8:45am with dismissal at 2:45pm. We ask that all parents pickup and drop off their children in the car circle. The school gates will open at 8:15am for students to be on campus. Breakfast will be served from 8:15am until 8:40am. We hope that our parents make it a priority to get their student to school before the 8:45am bell rings. A tardy student must enter through the front office to obtain a tardy slip before they can go to class. Please call the school if your child will be absent so that an excused absence can be given.
Please read below information before dropping off any medication. Keep in mind that students are not allowed to carry medication to school. All medication must be brought in and picked up by a parent or guardian. The nurse has a consent form that must be signed by the parent when medication is brought in.
- Prescription medication must be in original prescription bottle that has not expired and labeled with your student’s name, as well as the time and dosage your child will receive at school.
- Over-the-counter medication must be in the original unopened container. This medication must be accompanied by a note from the child’s doctor that includes the dosage as well as how often (every 4-6 hours) it is to be given at school and the medical reason your child is taking it (headache, stomachache, etc.)
Parents must alert the nurse, teacher and cafeteria if their student has a severe food allergy that requires emergency medication be kept at school (EpiPen). The cafeteria will need a note from the doctor that states the food allergy (milk, etc.). Please see the cafeteria manager for the required paperwork.
Please be sure that your contact information is always current on your child’s clinic card. We need these cards returned as soon as possible so the school can reach you in case your child has a medical emergency. The school requires a new clinic card to be filed out each school year.
***Please do not send your student to school if they have experienced vomiting, diarrhea or a fever within the past 24 hours.
Please join us on Friday August 10th from 9am until 11am for “Meet the Teacher.” This is a great opportunity for your child to meet their new teacher and find their classroom before the first day of school. We will be there to sell memberships to PTA and welcome our returning families as well as our new families. Please save the date and be sure to come.
